Symrise expands operations in France to produce new chicken powders
Symrise will increase its manufacturing capacity of chicken solutions with a new spray-drying tower in France. Production of new chicken powders is slated to begin by mid-2026 and is poised to keep pace with global consumer demand.
The expansion will boost the company’s chicken offerings amid rising demand for chicken worldwide. The company already offers a complete range of chicken solutions for taste, texture, mouthfeel, and nutritional benefits, from food ingredients to high-impact flavor creations. This expansion will further enhance the versatility and breadth of its chicken offering to meet key customer needs.
Consumers are also seeking convenient, cost-efficient, and indulgent natural chicken solutions, widely used in noodles, bouillons, and soups.
These new powders that will be produced at the Berric site signal the first time they will be available in European, African, and Middle Eastern markets. They are already produced in the US.
They combine sustainable sourcing with consistent quality and boost clean label credentials. This helps food manufacturers differentiate their products in competitive markets.
Growing global demand for chicken
Antoine Coursault, strategic growth competence director for chicken within Symrise Food & Beverage, notes that the Berric site plays a central role in supporting global customers.
“With this new spray-drying tower, we are introducing chicken powders that expand the options available to food manufacturers, provide a reliable supply, and support innovation in product development. The expanded site reinforces our ability to serve regional markets, while offering additional options for global accounts. With the new capabilities, Symrise reinforces its leadership in comprehensive chicken expertise.”
Coursault adds that by working with technology and insight experts, the company masters the whole value chain and combines natural chicken ingredients with extensive flavor capabilities to meet evolving consumer preferences worldwide. Symrise also helps food innovators stay ahead of demands and trends to deliver products that stand out in a competitive market.
The launch of the chicken powders closely follows Symrise’s launch of its first global Data and AI Hub in Barcelona, Spain, to advance the company’s digitalization strategy.
